I was a student worker in the Digital Futures Group at Pratt Institute, and around 2012 the program’s focus shifted towards 3d printing, with the design and production of a unique machine that iterated on the successes and failures of Mendel robots before it.

Stepper motors with belts and idlers
3d printed parts
Arduino Mega

Assembled in Rhinoceros. We don’t know how to use industrial design software (:
