Lightning Graph
Discovers and repairs model topology issues at lightning speed
Built @ CORE Studio
When architects model buildings in CAD, their goals are based on the visual and geometric accuracy of the model. When structural engineers model the underlying structure of buildings, their goals are based on the topological and data accuracy of the members of the structure. For these reasons, design models often have to be drawn over to produce an analyzable structural model.
Lighting Graph is a library I developed at Thornton Tomasetti CORE studio to:
Partly automate the creation of topologically accurate structural wireframes
Repair the structural connectivity of models in situ within Revit or Rhinoceros
The challenges involved in creating this library were:
Low latency
Ability to handle thousands / tens of thousands of structural members
Connect members together in the way that the designer intended

Usage: Framing Repair App
This served as the core library to build Framing Repair, a desktop model topology repair tool built by myself and Michael Kero.
